Rose's couture story began at the Cape Town College of Fashion Design, where she graduated top of her class and received the highest marks ever awarded by City & Guilds at the time. Over 15 years of crafting couture gowns and working alongside a team with more than 30 years of combined experience, she has refined a practice rooted in artistry, empathy, and precision. What she offers is more than craftsmanship—it's a deep understanding of body image, self-worth, and the gentle transformation that unfolds when a woman feels beautiful in her own skin.

Rose Molteno is a Cape Town–based couture fashion designer, artist, and founder of Molteno Couture and Love Rose Intimates. Known for her ethereal aesthetic, intricate craftsmanship, and deeply empathetic approach, Rose creates bespoke bridal and eveningwear that celebrate individuality, emotion, and the complex relationship we all have with our bodies.

Rose's creative philosophy is rooted in compassion and authenticity. Having walked her own long journey with eating disorder recovery, body dysmorphia, and mental health, she brings a rare level of understanding to every fitting and consultation. Her studio operates as a safe, judgement-free space where clients can be honest about their insecurities, preferences, and dreams. Rose knows that you do not need to love every part of your body to find a dress that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

Working alongside her experienced team, Rose has built a reputation for creating garments that honour both the external silhouette and the internal experience of the wearer. Her ability to design gowns for international clients through virtual fittings has allowed her work to reach brides across the globe.

In addition to couture, Rose is a lifelong artist. After returning to painting in 2020, she began integrating fine-art techniques into her fashion, drawing inspiration from nature, mythology, movement, and colour. Her artistic sensibility infuses every collection with emotional depth and narrative richness.

Today, Rose continues to evolve her creative universe — expanding into hand-painted silk ranges, luxury sleepwear, and experiential couture. Whether designing a wedding gown, a piece of art, or an intimate garment, her mission remains the same: to craft beauty that feels personal, soulful, and transformative in the most authentic way.
